Karunaratne and Mendis’s century leads Sri Lanka to a strong start against Ireland in Galle Test

On the first day of the Test match between Sri Lanka and Ireland in Galle, Sri Lankan batsmen Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis played exceptionally well, scoring 179 and 140 runs respectively, putting their team in a commanding position at 386-4 by stumps. Dinesh Chandimal and Prabath Jayasuriya remained not out at the end of the day. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first. Mark Adair, Curtis Campher, Benjamin White, and George Dockrell took one wicket each for Ireland.
