An easy target was chased by the Delhi Capitals against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 28th match of the TATA IPL 2023. After winning the toss, DC opted to bowl first. For KKR, only Jason Roy and Andre Russell succeeded in the match, while others lost their wickets at regular intervals. However, those players helped to post a total of 127 all out in 20 overs. Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, and Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets each for DC.
Chasing the easy target of 128, David Warner smashed 57 runs off 41 balls with the help of 11 fours. KKR did not lose hope till the end, as they got 6 wickets in the match. Varun Chakaravarthy, Anukul Roy, and Nitish Rana took 2 wickets each for KKR. Finally, DC chased the target with 4 balls to spare. With this win, DC won their first match in the series
