Tharushi Karunarathna has won the 800m Gold with a timing of 2 minutes 0.66 seconds to break the national record in the Asian Athletics Championship, her first Gold medal in her first senior level competition.
She is the first school since Damayanthi Darsha to win a medal in the Championship and her timing today makes her this year’s fastest in Asia
