Dambulla Aura secured a 10-run victory over Colombo Strikers in the 8th match of LPL 2023 at Pallekele. Earlier, CS skipper Niroshan Dickwella won the toss and opted to bowl first. Kusal Mendis displayed a stunning inning by scoring 87 runs from 47 balls with 4 fours and 8 sixes, while Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 59 runs with 7 fours and a six. DBA set a mammoth target of 192/6 for CS in 20 overs. Matheesha Pathirana took 3 wickets, and Naseem Shah took 2 wickets.
In reply, Babar Azam gave a good start to the CS innings, scoring 41 runs from 24 balls. Nuwanidu Fernando also contributed an unbeaten 56 runs, but it wasn’t enough to chase the target. However, CS only managed to score 182/4 in their 20 overs.
