Colombo Strikers’ opener Babar Azam smashed 104 off 59 balls and led the victory over Galle Titans in the 10th match of LPL 2023 at Pallekele. Earlier, CS’s skipper won the toss and elected to field first. For GT, Lasith Croospulle and Shevon Daniel built an 87-run partnership for the first wicket. Tim Seifert’s unbeaten 54 runs helped GT set a good target for CS. (188/3 in 20 overs)
In reply, CS openers Pathum Nissanka and Babar Azam built a 111-run partnership for the first wicket. Pathum scored 54 runs off 40 balls. GT bowlers made a good effort to win this game, but CS won by 7 wickets. (1 ball to spare)
