India are record seven-time Asian Cup champions, but they are yet to win a global title. The two-time World Cup finalists, in 2005 and 2017, came close to winning the Commonwealth Games gold in 2022, but ended up losing to a dominant Australian side. Today, they can win a first gold. Sri Lanka, the five-time Asia Cup finalists, won Asiad bronze on 2014. Up next, toss.
Sri Lanka are having good run. They were brilliant against England in England, winning their three-match T20I series. Here in Hangzhou, they started as the third-ranked team, and showed they mean business. But India, the top-ranked side, will be a different beast to deal with.
