In the top standings battle at HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala, between India and New Zealand. Asked to bat first, NZ lost their opening two wickets quickly, but Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra built a 159-run partnership before Ravindra was dismissed by Mohammed Shami. Mitchell contributed 130 runs, and Ravindra added 75 runs to New Zealand’s innings. Mohammed Shami was the standout bowler for India, as he took 5 wickets. However, New Zealand managed to set a total of 273 runs before being all out in 50 overs.
In the chase, India started their innings strongly. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill built a 71-run partnership for the first wicket. Virat Kohli fell just short of equaling Tendulkar’s record today, scoring 95 runs before being dismissed by Matt Henry. Finally, India successfully chased down the target with 12 balls to spare.
