Maxwell achieved the third-highest individual score (201*) in CWC history with 21 fours and 10 sixes.
Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first, posting 291/5 in 50 overs. Ibrahim Zadran became the first Afghan to score a century in the CWC, finishing unbeaten with 129 runs. Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets for Australia. While chasing the target, Australia lost 7 wickets with only 91 runs on the board.
