SL v AFG, 3rd ODI – Sri Lanka seals series 3-0 with dominant win over Afghanistan

Sri Lanka clinched the series 3-0 with a comprehensive victory by 7 wickets against Afghanistan in the third ODI match at Pallekele.

Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Rahmat Shah and Azmatullah Omarzai contributed 65 and 54 runs, respectively, to the Afghanistan innings. However, Sri Lankan bowlers limited Afghanistan to 266 runs in 48.2 overs. Pramod Madushan took 3 wickets, while Asitha Fernando, Dunith Wellalage, and Akila Dananjaya each took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.

In reply, Avishka Fernando and Pathum Nissanka built a strong 173-run partnership for the first wicket. Avishka scored 91 runs, and Pathum scored 118 runs, including 16 fours and 2 sixes. Sri Lanka skipper Kusal Mendis added 40 runs to the innings. Eventually, Sri Lanka chased down the target with 88 balls to spare.
