Sunrisers Hyderabad registered their second home win of the season as they defeated Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets in the 18th match of IPL 2024.
Asked to bat first, Chennai Super Kings’ batters were not successful this time, managing to score only 165/5 in their allocated 20 overs. Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane scored 45 and 35 runs respectively. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Pat Cummins, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Jaydev Unadkat took one wicket each for the Sunrisers.
In reply, Aiden Markram’s 50 runs, along with Abhishek Sharma’s 37 runs, helped Sunrisers Hyderabad chase down the target with 11 balls to spare. Moeen Ali took 2 wickets for Chennai. With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad climbed to 5th place in the points table.
