Once again, after a Sri Lankan top order collapse, it was new inclusion Dhananjaya de Silva who made a fighting knock of 66 to build up a decent innings for Sri Lanka while chasing a huge target of 368. Sri Lanka however lost by 78 runs in their third ODI encounter against South Africa in a five match series. The visitors clinched the series with an unassailing 3-0 lead.
Specialist batting coach and acting Sri Lankan head coach Thilan Samaraweera was pointed out their batting failure but he was praised abut Dhananjaya de Silva who was dropped from the first two one dayers.
“We are still on a experimental process with giving chances to the all the batsman around. In our selection, we never forget Lasith Malinga too. Lakshan Sandakan also in our line up” said Samaraweera who himself was a good batsman
“Our target is 2019 world cup. We know we have good talented players. This is an important series for us but we had already lost the series with two matches to spare” said Samaraweera.
