In the 6th World Cup carrom tournament held in America, Sri Lankan athletes won the men’s and women’s silver medals in the team event.
The Sri Lankan men’s team, who won the championship last time in the tournament held in San Francisco with the participation of 20 countries, lost to the Indian players who were the runners-up at that time.
In this tournament, the Sri Lankan men’s team consisted of Saheed Hilmi, Nishan Fernando, Anas Ahmed and Kaveen Nimneth, while the women’s team consisted of Joseph Roshita, Tarushi Himahansika, Tashmila Kavindi and Hirushi Malshani.
