Sri Lankan 4×400 relay team came up with a promising performances to enter the finals at the Asian Games in Jakartha on Wednesday. Aruna Dharshana the 18 year old promising athlete made an early lead but Qatar player used his experience to over take the Sri Lankan with style. Ajith Premakumara and Aruna Dharshana maintained the competitiveness in their respective laps while esxerienced Kalinga Kumarage finished in style to earn Sri Lanka the third place.
Sri Lanka’s timing of seconds in the race was fifth overall thus earning an important place in the final.
Meanwhile Sri Lankan Table Tennis players Ishara Madurangi and Udaya Ranasinghe lost to Thailand in their mixed double preliminary round first match . However Udaya will meet Laos player while Ishara will compete Pakistan player in their individual round.
Sri Lankan Hockey team will compete on Friday with Oman, which is expected to be a keen tussel.
