
The 12-member Sri Lanka youth netball team along with three stand by players to compete in the Asian Youth Under-21 Netball Championship in South Korea this June, have been submitted for the approval of the Sports Minister, ministry sources said.
Championship which is being jointly organised by Netball Asia and the South Korean Netball Association, is to be held from 14-21 June with Sri Lanka set to vie for glory after a lapse of a decade.
Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Thailand, and India are scheduled to contest the event from Group ‘A’ on a round-robin format.
Sri Lanka has won the title on three previous occasions (1998, 2002 and 2015) and they ended third in the last edition held two years ago.
