Sri Lanka’s poor run in cricket continued when the ladies cricket team too added woes to an ailing men’s cricket team’s disastrous Asia Cup exit, when the lasses were beaten comprehensively in the five-match T20 series by the touring Indians.
With one match being washed off in Colombo, Sri Lanka lost all four T20 matches to Indians. Out of the three ODI matches, Sri Lanka managed to win only the last played in Katunayake where captain Chamari Atapattu made a superb knock of 137 runs while being supported by Hasini Perera with 48 runs.
Sri Lanka Cricket had recently changed the coach and the management of the Women’s cricket team and had been changing the captaincy and the team members at regular intervals.
