Sri Lanka meet Oman to open ACC Emerging Team tournament

Sri Lanka will meet Oman in their opening match in the emerging team Asia cup cricket tournament at the R. Premadsa International cricket stadium on Friday.

Sri Lanka team captain Charith Asalanka said that the tournament was going to he very tough and they hoped to play very series cricket in this tournament. “Actually we have good balanced side with lot of all-rounders. Our coach Avishka Gunawardena and other supporting staff members did important raining sessions last four days.” said the skipper.

The emerging skipper also said that the involvement of most of the players in the premier tournament had given us lot of opportunities and that they hope to come good in this tournament.

As the co-hosts of the tournament with Pakistan, Sri Lanka will host all the matches involving Indian as well. Thus the Indian captain Jayant Yadav speaking at the press conference said that their side is packed with talent and experience and they hope to win this tournament.

Coached by Sri Lanka’s successful cricketer in all spheres Dulip Mendis and assisted by Ruwan Kalpage, Oman cricket team is confident that their abilities will be better managed with two Sri Lankans guiding their team. Team captain Zeeshan Maqsood said they will follow all the instructions of the coaches who are familiar with the pitches and will look forward to playing positive cricket in this tournament.

Meanwhile ACC event and development Manager Sultan Rana said that this was going to be a good tournament for Asian region. Four teams will battle in Pakistan while other four teams in Sri Lanka.

At the CCC grounds India will play with Afganistan while semi finals and on 13th at two venues CCC and R.Premadasa Stadium while final scheduled on 15th at R.Premadasa Stadium.
