Sri Lanka qualified for the second preliminary round of the Qatar FIFA

 

Sri Lanka has qualified for the second preliminary round of the Qatar FIFA 2022 world cup qualifiers. This was sanctioned by FIFA Disciplinary committee.

The second leg home game Sri Lanka vs Macau was supposed to hold in the last June 11th, 2019, at 3.30 pm at Sugathadasa Stadium due to Macau’s football federation rejection of the visiting. The match wasn’t played on the date because of that Sri Lanka has been declared a 3 -0 forfeit victory.

According to the Disciplinary committee considered the association liable for the breach of article 5 (which is related to withdrawal, non-played matches, and abandoned matches) of the FIFA world cup regulations from that Macau federation has received CHF 10,000 as a fine.

Coming July 17th Sri Lanka will take part in the second preliminary round draw at AFC House. After the draw, FFSL will officially reveal the countries which our national football team going to play against.
