Now the World Cup is over, England will shortly announce that they are looking for a new coach after finishing third
Tracey Neville coached the England team and whoever does get it will have a very different task to Tracey because of the vastly experienced players who will likely be stepping aside or taking time out and the international inexperience of the new ones coming through. All but two of England’s World Cup squad had played club netball in Australia and New Zealand, while this next group haven’t had that opportunity yet. So it will be a lot more about development than it was when Tracey took over four years ago.
Former England player and Super League Coach Tasmin Greenway says she will be ready to take over the England’s Netball Coaching job if the Netball England wanted her to be.
I’ve made it known that I put my name in the hat to replace Tracey Neville. I’ve achieved everything I want at domestic level and if I were lucky enough to be given the role, coaching the England side would be the next step up in my career.
Tamsin Greenway (born 6 October 1982) is a retired English netball player and she was a member of the England national netball team.
She usually plays centre court positions. Greenway was Director of Netball for Wasps until stepping down in 2018.
Greenway has been a member of the England national team since 2004/05, making her senior debut against South Africa. During her career she has competed at two Commonwealth Games (2006 and 2010) and one Netball World Championships (2007), collecting bronze medals at both Commonwealth Games. She also won silver at the 2010 World Netball Series in Liverpool.
Domestically, Greenway was the Director of Netball for Wasps; she announced she was stepping down from the role after the 2018 Superleague final. Previously Greenway played in the Netball Superleague with the Surrey Storm. She previously played for the Team Bath teams that won back-to-back national elite Superleague titles in 2005/6 and 2006/7.Greenway signed also with the Queensland
It will be tough but an exciting challenge for whoever that person is.
