Skipper Kamil Mishara and Ahan Wickremasinghe made centuries as Team Colombo defeated Team Dambulla by 61 runs in the final of the Under 19 Super Provincial cricket tournament ended at Rangiri Dambulla Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Team Colombo, who batted first, scored a challenging 303 runs in their allotted 50 overs for the loss of 6 wickets while Team Dambulla managed only to score 242 all out in 42. 5 overs. This was the second century hit by Kamil Mishara in this tournament. Two Royalists Kamil and Ahan added 161 runs partnership for the second wicket in this final.
Team Dambulla struggled with wickets falling at regular intervals. Lakshan Gamage was the top scorer for Dambulla with a knock of 63 runs and Dineth. Jayakody made 51 runs.
Dilmin Ratnayake was the Colombo’s most successful bowler capturing 4 wickets for 45 runs.
Ahan Wickramasinghe was adjudged as the Man of the Match of the finals received his award from the Chairman of the Junior cricket selection committee Ranjith Madurusinghe.
