Sri Lanka National squad of 12 players for the Asia Rugby Sevens 2019 which will take place in South Korea on 29 August and 1 September will be selected mid-this week by the national selectors along with head coach Matt Lee.
Matt Lee speaking to Daily FT said: “Final selection for first leg in South Korea will be finalised Wednesday morning at training, just a couple of injured players who have yet to train with team are Kevin Dixon, Mithun Hapugodage and Buddima Piyarathna.” Lee ended as saying: “Overall I am very happy with group’s attitude and commitment thus far along with the support by Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) for this event.”
The Sri Lankan Men’s outfit is grouped along with Japan, China and UAE while in the other group Hong Kong, Philippines, South Korea and Taipei will battle it out in the first leg. The second leg will take place in China and the last one in Colombo.
